About the photographer

Jane Love lives in Potomac, Maryland with her husband and two sons. She is originally from Clinton, New York, a small, upstate town, outside of Utica. Her interest in photography began there, in high school, where she took her first black and white photography class. She went on to study photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Imaging and Photographic Technology. After college, she accepted a position as a Photo Documentation Specialist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and moved to Maryland to pursue her career. Her diverse experiences at NASA included scientific documentation as well as photography for public relations, special events, and executive portraits. During her eight years at NASA, she specialized in digital imaging and helped to establish Goddard's Digital Imaging Facility until the birth of her first child. At that point, Jane began a new type of photographic documentation, that of her children. She saw how quickly they grew and realized how important it was to capture their images in meaningful ways. Her previous years of photographic documentation had not ended; the subjects had just changed. And with that change, came a whole new world of creative possibilities and artistic expression. She has become passionate about creating unique, relaxed and meaningful portraits and now has her own business specializing in professional creative portraiture.
